ARSOFT, a technology company based in the Science Park of the University of Salamanca and specialized in developing XR solutions for sectors like healthcare, industry, and defense, is launching, in collaboration with the Salamanca City Council, an introductory course to explore the potential of digital twins—one of the cornerstone technologies in the digital transformation of processes. Under the title “Digital Twin in Healthcare and Industry: A New Perspective”, the course is designed for individuals interested in understanding, from a solid and accessible foundation, how this tool optimizes the performance of physical systems through dynamic virtual representations connected in real time with real-world data. The sessions will be held at the Tormes + center in Salamanca on May 13, 20, and 27, and June 3, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
Over the course of four two-hour sessions, the training will gradually cover everything from the fundamental concepts of digital twins and their strong link to 3D visualization, to the technological ecosystems that make them possible. Real-world applications will be addressed in both industrial settings—where digital twins help predict failures, optimize product design, and reduce production times—and in healthcare, where they are already used to plan surgeries through personalized anatomical models that enhance safety and treatment effectiveness. Through use cases and examples, participants will gain insight into how this technology improves processes, reduces costs, and enables data-driven decision-making.
The course will also explore the key technologies involved in developing digital twins, including IoT, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and augmented reality, as well as the most widely used professional tools and platforms. It will cover the various technical roles involved in their design and deployment, and will analyze both the challenges of implementation and the opportunities this technology offers to businesses. The final session will focus on the steps needed to bring digital twin solutions into the corporate environment, with special attention to strategy, investment, and key success factors.
With this initiative, ARSOFT aims to bring emerging technologies closer to society, encouraging knowledge and dialogue around innovations that are set to transform how we manufacture, deliver healthcare, and design future solutions.
