ARSOFT and 300K: Innovation in Biotechnology through Extended Reality

At ARSOFT, we are proud to collaborate with innovative companies like 300K, a leading biotechnology company located in the Science Park of the University of Salamanca. 300K specializes in providing advanced solutions for the stabilization of biological samples at room temperature and has recently integrated our XR technologies to transform how they present and explain their products at trade shows and commercial visits.

In this interview, Pablo Peñalosa-Jiménez, Commercial and Marketing Director at 300K, explains how the implementation of Extended Reality technologies has been a significant advancement in gaining recognition among their clients.

What does 300K do?

300K is a biotechnology company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for the stabilization of biological samples at room temperature. What we are developing at 300K is an alternative system to the ultra-freezing of biological samples, to offer more sustainable and efficient solutions in the fields of biotechnology, precision medicine, clinical diagnostics, and many other applications.

Why did you decide to invest in XR technologies (Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality)?

300K is a high-tech company. We are always focused on technological developments, not only in our sector but in many others. In this context, and considering our location, our offices are in the Science Park of the University of Salamanca, it's easy to stay informed about new technologies since we share space with many important tech companies, many of which are leaders in their field. One of the companies that has always caught our attention is ARSOFT, which develops technologies related to Extended Reality. We spoke with them and quickly realized that their technology could easily adapt to our needs.

What does 300K use the XR technologies developed by ARSOFT for?

In this case, with the help of ARSOFT, we have simulated a laboratory environment where our users and potential clients can understand and learn firsthand how the products we develop at 300K are applied. We are currently using this technology at trade shows to introduce our products. It is at these events where this type of technology really catches the eye, as not many companies showcase their products this way. We are also using it during commercial visits. This point is very important to us because we can't take our product with us on visits. The traditional way is to bring a flyer, paper, or show a presentation, but we are finding that the impact of bringing the VR glasses and the simulation is very high, helping the client to remember us better. Additionally, using this technology is helping us to be more efficient and save a lot of costs in shipping. For example, when we go to a trade show, usually outside Salamanca, it is very costly to bring our equipment because it's very large. However, these technologies allow us to bring the product in an almost real way, making a very significant qualitative leap.

How has the experience of working with ARSOFT been?

ARSOFT is a very professional team. We have worked very well together. We have experience working with other companies on software projects, and that is always complex, but with ARSOFT, it has been the opposite. It has been very easy. In fact, when we have attended trade shows, companies, both from our sector and others, have asked us about ARSOFT, and of course, we have recommended them.
The collaboration with 300K has been an enriching experience for our team at ARSOFT. Seeing how our Extended Reality solutions help optimize the demonstration and presentation processes of their innovations is a clear example of the added value we can bring. We are very happy to continue working together, driving innovation, and improving efficiency in such crucial sectors as biotechnology
