ARSOFT teaches Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality technologies to professors at the University of Salamanca

More than twenty professors from the University of Salamanca attended the course "Mixed Reality Techniques (Virtual and Augmented) in University Teaching" held by ARSOFT on June 21st. Together with Juan Antonio Juanes, Professor of Human Anatomy at the academic institution, they demonstrated the advantages of using these technologies in the classroom.

In today's digital age, technological advances have radically changed the way we learn and teach. One of the latest innovations in education is the use of virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality technologies. These technologies are characterized by their ability to engage students and enrich the teaching-learning process by providing immersive and collaborative experiences, so it is not surprising that more and more educators are betting on their use in the classroom.

At ARSOFT, we are experts in helping schools implement and use this type of technology.

Our colleagues José Pizzano and Enrique Hernández gave a course to teachers at the University of Salamanca on Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality techniques in the university environment. Together with Juan Antonio Juanes Méndez, Professor of Human Anatomy at the University of Salamanca and Director of the Recognized Research Group on Advanced Medical Visualization Systems (VisualMed System), they explained to the teachers the advantages of using these technologies in the classroom

  • Active and Experiential Learning

XR technologies facilitate the creation of active learning environments where students not only consume information, but also manipulate and experience it interactively.

  •  Stimulating imagination and creativity

XR technologies encourage creativity and imagination. Students can create their own virtual worlds, experiment with 3D architectural designs or recreate historical events, providing a limitless space for expression and learning.

  • Accessibility and personalization

XR technologies allow learning to be tailored to the individual needs of learners. For example, people with visual impairments may benefit from visual simulations in AR to understand abstract concepts, while students with concentration difficulties may find VR a less distracting and more focused environment.

  • Global collaboration and connectivity

VR and MR platforms allow students to collaborate on projects with peers around the world, breaking down geographical and cultural barriers. This not only broadens their horizons, but also fosters important skills such as teamwork and effective communication.

The use of augmented, virtual and mixed reality technologies is revolutionizing education by providing immersive, personalized and collaborative learning experiences. Teachers who embrace these technologies are not only preparing their students for a digital world, they are redefining the future of learning, where imagination knows no bounds and knowledge is transformed into a unique experience.

We would like to thank Juan Antonio Juanes for the opportunity to teach this course, which is part of the teacher training plan that the University of Salamanca implements every year.

If you have any questions about the advantages that XR Technologies can offer you in the educational field, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to listen to you and give you an answer.
