The SONOVISION group, partner of ARSOFT, selected by the Spanish Army as the supplier of its new Augmented Reality system

The Spanish Army has been working for some time on the incorporation of new technologies such as those related to Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality to its daily activities to improve training, as well as vehicle maintenance processes.

In this context, and to face the challenges generated by the continuous technological changes, the ET has a new logistics base, which will be located in Córdoba, and which is part of the transformation program of the Army "Fuerza 2035".

The new Logistics Base has been designed to be a technological reference center at a national and international level in which technologies such as those related to Augmented Reality will have a place.

ARSOFT, together with Sonovision, is developing the Army's new platform for Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality technologies, taking advantage of its experience and its EyeFlow platform for the digitization of technical process documentation.

What is this tool for?

- Training: thanks to Virtual Reality, the Army can offer quality training on the processes associated with the vehicles or weapon systems with which it works. In this way, users can "enter" any Army vehicle and train in a practical, interactive and realistic way in the processes, as many times as they need, from anywhere and at any time.

- Maintenance: Augmented Reality allows the operator to carry out daily maintenance tasks in a faster, more efficient and safer way. With this technology it is no longer essential to go to complex manuals where the operation of the machinery is explained. Now, operators receive step-by-step instructions in carrying out a process, with easy-to-understand instructions and even 3D models, which can be viewed on Hololens glasses. In addition, they can count, if they need it, on remote assistance. In other words, they can contact another operator with more experience who provides them, remotely, with the necessary instructions to successfully complete that specific task.

With the strategic agreement reached by both companies, SONOVISION will be in charge of distributing and developing Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality content for ET with the solution implemented by ARSOFT, taking advantage of the technology of its EyeFlow platform.
